Pay to wash hands at NTUC Foodfare coffee shop
After a meal at the new NTUC Foodfare coffee shop next to the Bedok bus interchange, I washed my hands but was told to pay 10 cents for this.
I was surprised by this new measure. The supervisor of the contracted cleaning company suggested that I could go to other places or the Bedok MRT toilet to wash my hands for free.
When contacted, NTUC Foodfare got the manager of the cleaning company to contact me. He called but insisted his company had to impose the charge.
I am amused by this incident. Shouldn't a hygienic eating outlet provide a clean environment as well as a place for washing hands at no extra charge for its customers?
Gone are those days when SARS hit that people are encouraged to wash their hands regularly, especially before and after meals.
Is the installation of washing basins in restaurants and coffee shops for customers a basic hygiene requirement under the Health Ministry's regulations?

the other time I went chinatown, I pay 20 cents also no toilet paper and the toilet like 1000 years never wash lidat.
