Aircrafts flying at night

these two months aircrafts (i think jet fighters, can see the afterburners) keep flying over pasir ris area at night, after 10 pm. it's very noisy and my family can't get to sleep because of it. are those military planes or commercial airliners? i think they are military planes cuz commercial airliners don't make that much noise. and what on earth are they sending planes over residential areas using their afterburners or just the engines alone. the noise is totally roaring.

Those are most probably our new long range F-16D fighters.
20 of them are based at the new Changi East Air Base.
They could also be American Air Force F-16 or F/A-18 fighters using our base by treaty. -
Count yourself lucky, I have a despatch next to my apartments, everytime a false alarm goes off, 2 fires blare their sirens all the way to site, even if its 4am in the morning. They get despatched about 5 times daily on average.

They fly so fast, can cover the whole SG quickly and wake people up.
Maybe it is their idea of a good alarm clock.
Then I will feel sad for them, because probably the only ones they manage to wake up will be the street cats and those people sleeping in void decks (not to insult them) -
The last time I lived in my old flat, I could use a 9x binocular and peep into one of the huge hangars at paya lebar airbase and see a big "NO SMOKING" sign.
