Possumbottoms and long meetings

  During the course of group meetings at work, i always encounter 2 different kinds of species:
  
  1. Possumbottoms
  
  The restless qusimodos who cannot remain in their seats for long, always figeting, cracking their knuckles, drumming their fingers, spinning their pens or changing their seating positions etc.
  
  The probable reason for this behaviour is likely:
  
  a. They can't stand long meetings because they either:
  
  i. a waste of money
  ii. unproductive
  
  b. They consider themselves hands-on personnel and simply cannot comprehend why these bookkeepers enjoy coffee, tea and small talk.
  
  2. Long Winders
  
  The straight one liners who enjoy long (very long) meetings. They exhibit traits like:
  
  a. love to summarise what another person has just said
  
  b. express themselves in very long sentences
  
  c. tend to reiterate what the chairman (usually the company president) has just mentioned.
  
  They are likely to:
  
  a. move less at the table,
  
  b. Have their handphones on silent mode
  
  c. enjoy free drinks and refreshments because long meetings gives them the chance to escape other responsibilities, which are usually more pressing at that point of time.
  
  I unreservedly fall under the possumbottom catagory.

  Long winders category seem to fit my managerial colleagues best. Somehow they got this peverse interest to hold super long meetings. It is as though they wanna justify the pay they get every month.
  
  Worst is they pull ppl from possumbottoms into the meeting. Well they can have long meetings but we can't!!! After meeting we still need to do hands on to deliver the deadline deliverables leh... Wan long meeting ownself go lah drag other to play their games so selfish

  So far, i have not seen anyone dare doze off at the table...else you get asswiped.
  
  And why would you have to attend meetings? Tot the moderatress is too busy censoring racists, bigots & flamers...more so now that 2 clowns have been sued.
