microsoft paint help

  y can't i save pictures in jpeg format? i tried clicking on "save as" and renamed the file as abc.jpg or abc.jpeg but it's no use. i'm using windows 2000 btw. can anyone teach me how to save pictures as jpeg? thnx.

  When prompted to save, under the file name, select save as file type.

  don't have leh. only have *.bmp and *.dib

  c'mon. anyone has any idea wat's wrong? nv had such a problem b4 until i formatted my com recently.

  I thought you just need to save as,don't even need to type the .jpeg behind..Cause in paint once save its auto in jpeg format le..

  microsoft paint sucks, i used to use it, it's really annoying, use other programs, photoshop or freehand or somethin.

  File: Save As...
  
  In the "Save as Type" drop down list got a lot..
  
  If not, you are screwed and Windows want to you to get PhotoShop or the free GIMP. (GIMP quite powerful as FotoShop but free, if you scared of mata raid your house)

  For simple saving file as different picture format I use the free IrfanView software. It is FREE and on the internet. It also have a batch file conversion facility. It can serve most ppl needs unless you are into sophisticated graphic design then getting a higher end commercial (not pirated ok?) software is better
