Remedy for Homepage hack ?

  As above, its there a better way to remove the hack other than reformatting my PC ?

  INstall:
  
  Mozilla / Firefox
  WinPatrol
  
  Once done, open Win Patrol and see what's running in the background
  
  Usually its coolwebsearch hack but if not,
  Open Mozilla and locate the tool to remove using the search engine.
  
  CWS remover is here http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html
  
  Anything else, use Mozilla after that to locate any hack remover tool.

  firewall do not always stop spyware
  there are spyware blocks but some still get through... so get spyware removers.
  you would be better off running winpatrol and let it monitor what is trying to be installed into your machine
  Avoid using IE if you can
