E.g opening shops, etc.
One of my friends told me, some friends whom she didn't know that well asked her to chip in their "business".. and they are still serving the army... are NSFs allowed to start businesses while serving the country? I bet most of you guys have been thru nsf days... maybe some of you can solve my doubt?
first, xiao-mei-mei......don't listen to these noobs who post one-liner craps.
they're on their way to challenge the top 4 crappers here already.
for your question, the answer is NO. i'm someone who's been through this, done that. before NS, i had a little business. on my enlistment days, i asked the CMPB enlistment officer(a lady who's like specializing in deferment and other NSF issues) whether i can have a business while serving NS.
her answer is NO, and it's illegal by law. u can more or less see now.
my CO and OC last time also got said it's against military law to even do part-time job(even if it's 2 hours or less) while serving NS.
according to them, u can do outside business/jobs while serving NS
only if your family is in financial problems AND provided that you have official clearance from SAF.
if do it secretly and keep low-profile, fine. if kenna caught, good luck loh.
i tell you, the consequences is to "have tea" with the folks in Detention Barracks and charged accordingly with miltary law.
because my camp last time got 1 such guy mah. kenna caught outside by some police business division or something, in the end, got sent to Detention Barracks for more than 6 months.
but just find out clearly what business your friends are doing and ask youself how much is the risk of getting caught, and weigh in all factors.
if it's part-time selling pirated CDs, good luck.
if it's online business(e-commerce) etc., then the chances of getting caught is almost 0%; depends.
good day,
nikar.
