diesel vs petrol

  can anyone give an economic explanation as to why there were more discount for diesel rather then petrol in the past in spore. has got to do with urban economics.... vast majority od saloon cars use petrol while others like taxi,lorry and vans uses diesel..

  Hmmm I have some questions to ask to clarify my doubts first.
  
  1) May I know the actual question?
  2) Did they give any statistics about the present discounts for petrol and diesel?

  this is the exact qn:
  
  in the past n singapore, there were realtively more petrol stations offering discounts for diesel than for petrol. give an economic explanation.(hint: a vast majority of saloon cars run on petrol while almost all taxies,vans and lorries are fuelled by diesel.) no statistics were provided

  Here's some trivia for you! Diesel costs more than petrol in Oz per litre. But coca cola costs more than either also by the litre.

  taxi's can get cheaper if they fill up from their own operators like NTUC, etc, delgro,
  
  so stations have to nearly match that price.
