  RCIA
  - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. This is an adult program for new converts to the faith. The program consists of classes and fellowship with other Catholics. The course takes 1 year.

  young people below 21 can join RCIY.
  
  younger children can join other Catholic children in the Catechism class.

  only for those below age don't need to go 4 RCIA. But in the end they also have to go 4 RCIA when they grow up that the rule.

  under 14, I think. Cuz the age of 14 is when the young Catholics receive confirmation.
  
  Holy Family Church used to have RCIY. The response has been very good and manage to convert many teenagers. But dunno why the church did not want to continue with this.
  
  Do you live near Holy Family Church? Or are you nearer to Tampines and Pasir Ris side?

  Don't get too concerned about it being 1 year, see it as a good opportunity for u to learn. You don't need to rush right? It's better to get urself totally prepared specially when it is faith. 1 year preparation is rather quick isn't it.

  for cradle catholics like myself, i attended cathecism for abt 10 yrs before i was confirmed in sec 3.
  
  RCIY and RCIA are pretty good programs, it takes u slowly through the church teachings and gives u a good grounding on the theological aspects like the sacraments, etc

  One year is quite short actually.
  
  Along the way, you get to learn more, know more ppl, make friends. Before you know, you have to start preparing for your baptism.
