Wait for O Levels results to come out. Your school will give you one booklet on JCs. Inside are the cut-off points. RJ is supposed to be the top school
NJ is supposed to be the mugger school
HC, NY is supposed to be the cheena schools
AC is supposed to be the rich kia school

regarding JC rankings, after you finish your 2 years in JC and go to whatever uni, you'll look back at the rankings and go "what the hell were they for?" -

NJC-No culture
SAJC- Very down to earth people(friendly) -
i dun think the cut-off points tell you the ranking coz seriously speaking, if hcjc's results drop like hell and it became 10th in position, i dun think its cut-off point will become 12 or sumth, it will remain 4 or 5. And no, im not the sure-6-point type, my english is not that superb but i can afford 7 or 8 points, before minusing bonus points and all that.. Any more opinions???? How bout ACJC and TJC??

i had the same score as u 2 years ago n i chose TJC.. personally i like that school alot.. most of the people i know there r pretty humble and hardworking.. most of them r not naturally super smart but they work very hard for their good grades.. so i wud say that the environment is quite muggish lah.. good thing is, peer pressure drives u to study..
there r subject tutors who r also willing to stay back after school to help u with ur schoolwork.. hmm.. the canteen's food isnt so bad.. some of the canteen uncle and aunties r quite frenly.. the school song's nice.. the uniform is... err.. haha.. but the polo tees/PE shirts are nice and cooling!! and principal and new vice-principal too are relli encouraging and friendly...
oh yar.. i heard theyre changing the seats in the lecture theatres for the new batch of j1s next yr too.. haha thats all.. u can come to tj's open hse n see for urself la. -
hahaz... one thing i dun fancy about TJC is its horrendous uniform... but i guess TJC is good coz its not like the top jc (if i get 6 i would still not go to HCJC nor RJC) and yet its not that bad either (is it top 5?) but im still more inclined to go to AC.. im not sure why, perhaps its the culture there.. i would prefer more fun, easy-going english environment... is AC THAT bad ranking-wise??

one more for acjc here!
contrary to popular belief, AC is not really a rich-kid show-off school. of course there are rich people, rich people are everywhere nowadays. but definitely not show-off la. no one exactly walks around with a bag or shoes or behaves screaming "MY DADDY IS WORTH 50 MILLION BUCKS".... when you're in AC chances are you wouldn't know your friend is rich until you know him/her really well and he tells you about his dad or you go to his house.
but if you are interested in AC, some things to consider.
1) it helps alot to be comfortable in an english-speaking environment. we just cant get along easily with cheena ppl. not that we look down on them or anything, just not the AC type la
2) you will feel at home in AC if you're the type who doesnt take mugging so seriously. relax and hang out with frens lol! the stereotype that we are slackers at schoolwork is quite true actually. even in the sch library and lectures most ppl are talking not mugging
3) be sociable! and dont let your books rule over your frens
4) be prepared to train hard at cca. dont let your books rule over your training
5) good fashion sense never hurt anyone! -
