Hey guys,
do you know that every 3 seconds a child dies in South Africa? That means 50 000 people die per day. Do you think that it is fair that these people die out of poverty? Do you know that 18 million people will die unnecessarily this year because of this?
Overcoming poverty is not just a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life. The world is hungry for action, not words. So lets us be the generation that makes poverty history. Then we can all stand with our heads held high.

Yeah, here comes the point of controlversy.
1) You know what causes the population boom? Medical science. Now it is more difficult for people to die than last time like in 1942, where even smallpox is considered uncurable. With medical improvements, people survives, and so the population increases.
2) Yes, people should not die from poverty... but it is impossible to provide for everyone, esp. South Africa, so big but bad economy. -
it is not impossible if we all bothered to take 3 mins of our time to see what we can do. Seriously, if more people bothered to take action, it is possible. I guess ur too selfish to even bother.

i dont believe in being BORN INTO things. we all can change our own destiny. we can make the choice we want. I am saddened that people just cant be arsed at all. Sigh.

lol.. you can't really go there.. being born in this kinda environment, maybe it would seem like that. i our sense, probably yes; if we screw up school, we could probably still find some way. it's singapore. but when you're stuck in the middle of a huge country that's more that 90% illiterate, with no way of getting out, or learning anything or whatsoever.. reality kinda sticks hard onya.. you can't really just jump out of poverty into another country you know. that's modern laws for you.Originally posted by ukdecay:i dont believe in being BORN INTO things. we all can change our own destiny. we can make the choice we want.
