This is my question. Why USA's export is way below CHINA and some Asian countries in term of phsical outpiut but it's Exchange is So Strong????
Is this mean we work for nothing?? We sweat like hell and get paid so little that we can not exchange for better life?? Every country hold so much of USA dollars and US Feb just keep printing to statisfy asian Gov demand???

I don't really know how to explain this in economic terms. All I can say is that American companies controls the black gold known as oil and most MNCs are american. Doesn't matter how high your export is . Exporting , manufacturing need oil for transport , manufacturing machinery etc. American MNCs also outsource to china to manufacture goods - but profits will land back into USA again . This is probably why their dollar is strong. When u see oil prices or dow jones drop , their dollar dip along with it - as with the most of the whole world cept for the european union .Originally posted by Sky2D2:This is my question. I am confused again. almost every household in USa own 2 to 3 cars?? Before you sell, you already consumed so much!! So, how you sell oil to other countries for production needs??? Is this resulted the the climate changed??
On the accounting side, it does not match or makes sense!!! On the balance of payment is even out of the equation!!!! They are the world biggest Debt country and yet they live like king??? -

You are right , they have a huge debt . Thing is world bank , IMF have no control over uncle sam because of the oil involvement. Oil runs the industrial world - u need oil for cars/machinery/transportation which is indirectly linked to manufacturing , agricultural , transport , tourism (esp airlines) industries which is linked to a country's economic progress. not too sure if this is right, but...still. my theory ain't based on economics or anything ok, so just hear me out if you want.
the greenback remains so strong simply because it has to. it is the world's largest economy, and so, in a way, the whole world is built around them. should they collaspe, the will drag everyone down with them, as was evident during the post-911 period. so, should the greenback ever go, everyone looses and no one gains. because of that, everything has a set value range, thus factors such as currency pegs come into play. extreme measures like devaluation also come into play once in awhile to keep things in check. people always try to actively keep currencies in balance because it is less painful then the passive method.
go ahead and correct whatever's wrong, but from what i've observed, things seem to be happening that way. btw...i'm nothing near an economics or a finance student...i lean to the sciences. -

I see your points. Wait, the world largest economy. But they are the world largest debt country. Let say you are a business man, will you sell your goods to someone who owes alot of money in the real business sense??

They have high exchange rate, remember they can buy up your country resources!!!!!!!! and yet they owe people money!!! what a joke. A larget debt country and still can provide its citizens go everywhere to buy up companies.

I am not an economist. The setting of exchange rate needs some real money backing. But where they get real real money for backing up their exchange Rate??
If one day, Asia and North asia become one largest economy... see how the USa people will live... -
They are backed by oil. Each time u have an oil crisis - their dollar drops . Singapore is backed by gold bullions each time they print money and I think they peg the currrency to usd if I am not wrong . Almost everything is privatised - they charge their own people alot of money to use services such as health - that is why there is a growing gap between poor and rich in USA as we learnt in new orleans hurricane tragedy . The world bank and IMF is controlled by them too - their personal banking

They are capitalist by nature.
