Do Doctors Smoke?

Hi,
Do doctors smoke?
They are supposedly the most educated people in healthcare and they spend their time curing patients.
Are they less likely to smoke compared with other professionals, like, maybe lawyers or accountants?
And, are lung specialists (or whatever else related to it) much less likely to smoke?
Well u get my idea. -

Their habit stem from young since teenage life due to peer pressure. The choice is theirs to choose of whether they want to become a chimney or not. I know of consultants who do smoke, but they limit their smoking to the minimum. Well that's good. That means the medical students are less likely to be smokers compared to, say, business students. That's interesting. I was thinking about doctors but didn't know even medical students are also less likely to smoke.

If an individual does not smoke up till 25 years of age, the chances of him picking up a cigarette is less than 5%.
With age, the percentage will keep falling.
Media and tobacco advertisements mainly targets the young individuals age 10-18 because they are the most influential group of people to replace those who are dying from complications of smoking. That's why the TAK NAK campaign in Malaysia.
The first study is done in Malaysia, this study is done in the States if I am not wrong. -
And then......would a lung specialist be less likely to smoke compared with, say, a urologist or a dentist or others? Hehe I think it should?

I doubt there is a study done amongst respirologist and other specialists in terms of incidence and prevalence of smokers. Not to say the least, I know of some of my friends who studied in India who even take ketamine and marijuana (cannabis) to stay awake during their medical student's life.
Some were caught and kicked out, while some survived to tell the tale. -
i also see friends, who are medical students, do nt see doctors easily when they fall sick, unless it's really bad. That's one way to build up their immune systems rather than relying too much on medicine. I feel quite unhealthy when i see their lifestyles.-_-"

Hahaha... they think they power mar, once they gain knowledge of their body's physiology, they will rather not see a doctor coz they know that most of the illnesses like flu and diarrhea for example are self-limiting... not me, definitely not me, I make full use of the government hospital's services for free medication and free treatment... hehee... nice staying and working for the government... -
No, I dont smoke.
Anyway.. for those who smoke, regardless of profession, if u quit before the age of 35yr, ur life expectancy would be not much different from those of a non-smoker (u live longer compared to a smoker). -

The only advantage of smoking in the medical field is that it prevents Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (proven) and Cervical Cancer (proven).
But of course smoking gives rise to other complications and is bad for the fetus.
Dilemma...
