Singapore has the finest legal system in the world. It is based on important principle enshrined in our pledge that all judgements are based on "JUSTICE and EQUALITY". Indeed, we can see the success of the system in the low crime rates. Singaporeans are so lucky to have such a fine legal system. Under Yong Pung How, the legal system is even better now than ever!
Take the case of 53 yr old Mdm Yong who was given a jail sentence of 11 years for shoplifting, it goes to show how much advancement our judicial system has made since the 1990s. In the 1990s, a crook by the name of Nick Leeson, stole $1.3 billion and was only given 6.5 years jail term by our legal system. See how much we have advanced...
Now we are able to jail Singaporeans for shoplifting wallets and bangles for 11 years. The shoplifters makes a mockery of other Singaporean's favorite pasttime of shopping by taking and not paying... this is heinous indeed, it is such an evil crime and our enlightened courts knows it.
As for Nick Leeson, he was released after less than 5 years. He is now Commercial Manager of Galway United Football Club. -

A cyclist was knocked down by a "white horse" saf pilot, the cyclist died, the pilot only got 4 months in jail.
Some other crimes that are alot less minor get jail terms more than 4 months and the pilot only got 4 months for killing someone....
Moral of story?
Kill the person you hate by drinking and knocking him/her down using your car.

53yrs still need to shoplift... that mean confirm no money right?? so if no money how to survive on her own without stealing again right?? so they give her free food and housing for 11yr first... then that time after her 62yrs already.. can get her CPF money to retire what.. smart and nice right our government???
p.s 53+11=64 so that extra 2 yrs...is advance planning lah.. soon the will raise the retirement age to 64 lah... si bei smart planning man -
I am so touched by our considerate judges. 11 years of free food for shop lifter because she is poor. And $70 fine for the researcher who miss-parked his car. Our judges and the legislators are amazing! a man was fined $10000 for something related to his weekend car.
the total rebate for a weekend car is $17000. -
