Maxonline vs Singnet

heya guyz juz wanna have your opinion.. my cousin wanna upgrade her internet connection.. hence she wanna noe which one is better maxonline 2000 or singnet 1500... i personally think maxonline.. but the recent promotion for singnet seems to be tempting (got ipod nano).. anywayz juz wanna gather some info.. which one is better in terms of service/usage/home networking/etc etc..

In my opinion,
Singnet 512 = Maxonline 2000
Singnet 1500 = Maxonline 6500
Singnet 3500 = Maxonline 25000 -
Err... singnet promos require you to sign 2 year contract...
regretting abit now... signed 2 years for one crap iPod Mini...
Er... quality-wise... don't seem much different for me... not a very avid user -
frankly, those promo gifts are just gimmicks...smokescreen..
what's the use of those gifts if u can get decent speed for a more afforable price throughout the contract? -

They have a seperate promotion for 1 year contracts. Singnet de Bittorrent like slow lehz...
My friend using StarHub always complaining to me that his Bittorrent speed slow because never reach 100 kB/s...
Wah Lau, I using Singnet1500, I got 15 kB/s, I veri happy liao... But den...maybe I using wireless...behind that stupid modem firewall...
But then not sure lah...cos he download different place from me..... -

Go get yourself a new modem.. the modem that they give has a built-in-firewall and the driver..does not allow u to disable the firewall -

Reliability : Both

SIngnet is dedicated which mean u dont share unlike Maxonline.... Un less u reallie sure if u stay in hDB no 1 is using maxonline then ur speed super fast.....
It either moderate speed for singnet or maxonline that can be fast,super slow depend on how many pple sharing..... -

At most Singtel only so-called dedicate the Internet in your housing estate. Moreover Singtel dedicate EQUALLY, means if the bandwidth is 100mb/s, and there are 200 users, each user's speed is 0.5mb/s (which is also known as ownage)
Starhub is different, everything is shared. Means if you download while nobody using, you get all the bandwidth. (also known as ownage) -
i jus changed from singnet to maxonline.. the amt u paid for singnet is almost the same as maxonline.. moreover i get the wireless gateway and adapter free from maxonline... hassle free from the cables... the price subcription is almost the same each month.. maxonline if im not wrong is $58 singnet also the same... dun be tempted by the free gifts... think of the long term benefit...

What I cannot stand and hate most about SingNet Helpdesk, is the employ fillipinos to answer your calls!
I can't understand a damn word they roll out of their foreign tongue even if in English!!
There are times they even get impatient with me! You call that Service? Compare SingNet's helpdesk service with Starhub, SingNet's a thousand miles behind!
I think SingNet's too successful and large that they're just plum complacent and slack.
