Did your teachers exert physical punishment on you?

Any of u done relief teaching b4? Teaching students today not easy, cos they are so well protected. Cannot even make them knock it down... haiz.
BUt thats not the biggest problem. Some of the students know that and tekan teachers cos they know teachers cant do much to them.
Some interesting problems is when students get a crush on u... wah i tell u.. headache man. If u're a guy, not so bad... the student may just send u some love letters n buy u stuff. Best is don't accept.
Female relief teachers are more chia lat, some cheeky boys will ask "cher cher! u got boyfriend anot?" The moment u say "dun hav..." u're dead. My friend kena one boy who put his arms around her shoulders... some are even worse. Haiz. -
I remembered one teacher threw a bottle of water onto one of my friends. He intended the bottle of water to hit the wall so as to make him shut the heck up. He had a concussed head and a bleeding eye. Had to undergo multiple operation but eventually ended up in a coma. He recovered 3 months later.
No charges were pressed as the parents of the kid were very good friends of the teacher and did told the teacher once that if their kid messed up in school, he has the right to teach him a lesson...
WTF!!! -
i remember my female sec english teacher whose eyes are really pa jiao , one left one right. Suffering from depression always throws table and chairs lol ! everyone in her class always well guarded and on their toes ready to run... once the table hitted my friends back... and the teacher felt sorry and forced my friend to take out his shirt and let her see how bad it was, infront of the whole class.lol....

i remember teacher rotan my leg..on purpose... cos we need wear shorts n the marks showed up...i tried to use crayon to colour it in (those days were primary school days).
one time maths teacher punch me on the arm...hmm..wat else? throw chalk, throw duster, mostly canning. -
Last time Primary school got one chinese teacher, somehow it is always the chinese teacher, he always like to draw two curves on the black board and ask u to put ur hand there, make u position like some medival prisoner like tat. Then he just laughs at us, sick old man!

Made me do few hundreds of SQUATs because I never manage to hand in my homework... In the end got me SO MUCH FITTER that doing SQUATs was like nothing my ECA trainings... My sec 1 science teacher, like ah beng wan... Everytime we do wrong thing. He will tell us do push-up... nt 10 or 20 hor!!! But 50+...
1 time my frenz say wronng ting, kana knock 100... majiam ARMY like tat...

Imagine clapping your hands very, very hard. Imagine your face between those hands. That's what I got from my teacher.
I went home with a really red and swollen face.
Not as bad as some of the other punishments I've seen, though. -
i was slapped by my art teacher in sec 1 cause of attitude.

yeah, sure, i got slapped in pri 5 (more than 10 years ago, of course) for making a mistake in adding up...
BUT someone (sori, forgot ur name!) is right when he said that students nowadays are well-protected, too well-protected for their own interests.
teachers now know better than to lay a finger on the student, who will complain to their parents/MOE about physical abuse, molest etc...
i suppose moderate physical fitness punishments are ok, u know, they will build up ur stamina blah blah blah
but no longer all those "torture" punishments. MOE will always side with students, n like what someone said earlier, suspend or fire the teacher.
i don't mind telling u all that i'm saying this cos i was a teacher in sec sch once.
besides detention n lecturing, there's nothing else teachers can do to students. we can't even use the word "stupid" cos we will "hurt our students' self-esteem" and this is "verbal/emotional abuse" to the student.
on the other hand, there are no restrictions to what students can do to the teacher i.e. name-calling, scolding/being very rude n defiant to teachers. And no one thinks that teachers are suffering from verbal abuse nearly every day.
Having no effective method to discipline students, that's why teachers have to come up with creative, non-physical ways of punishment.
granted some teachers are purely unreasonable/unkind etc, as for the rest, pls think about why u were punished in the first place. -
