Ever suffered from someone's jealousy? Why does it happen?

For example, they are 2 girls, Girl A and Girl B. Girl A is always praised for her good looks and this in turn makes Girl B succumbs to jealousy and from then, she spend her life making fun of people that she thinks are inferior to her own looks to feed her esteem.
Question,
1) What use is it to make fun of someone? Is it for attention? Does it makes you more desirable?
2) For example you are girl b, what use is there for making fun of ppl, just because you are jealous of something, take for example looks, to gain more company (boys), but in the end, you only end up with one guy or have more sex (it's like a drug, addictive yet destructive)?
3) Have you ever suffered from the wrath of jealousy? How did you react?
4) What makes you less jealous? (if you see someone that is better than you, how would you cope?) -
usually i am jealous cos my friends' results better than me... then i try to enjoy myself more than they are with the time that i am supposed to be studying.... hahaha....

you cld b right in e sense tat in trying to make fun of other pple, she jus wan to let pple know in an 'underhand' method tat gal A is having too much attention, but Gal B needs some too...
of cos, if u were hurt by her actions, she wouldnt b desirable lo...
