Is there discrimination against bankrupt?

  Bankruptcy under the law of Singapore is NOT an offence but the restriction imposed on bankrupt suggest otherwise such that a bankrupt MUST obtain the approval of the Official Assignee before he can travel overseas. Even ex-convict can travel freely after release from prison except for drug conviction.
  
  1. What is the status of bankrupt under the law of Singapore? Are they treated worse than ex-convict who have freedom of movement when bankrupt has to seek consent of the OA to travel overseas?
  
  2. Does the civil service employ bankrupt, if so, how many and their area of work?
  
  3. What is the stand of the government in employing bankrupt?
  
  4. Why are bankrupt treated differently from others in the civil service?

  Finally something serious.
  
  If I am not wrong, civil service don't employ bankrupts. As for the rest of the questions, I don't know.

  i heard it take ages to be discharged from bankcrupty even after 5 yrs
