  Is gambling legal in Singapore? I mean, like, if people gather to play mahjong, or poker whatever and they gamble, is it against the law? Since there is TOTO and there is casino soon, that means gambling is legal in Singapore?

  U stay home and gamble...I think still illegal but as long as U dont machiam open gambling den and disturbing ur neighbours...nobody will come and catch U...but I guess with the casino coming up...they will change the wording a little bit...there is something called legalised gambling.

  Gambling is allowed on the basis of fostering interaction/community/family game.
  
  if it turns into pure gambling [eg. Gambling dens where there is minimal interaction] and the focus is solely on the money, it is illegal.

  as far as i know, the maximum of mahjong tables is 2. those poker tables are not allowed, i think.
  
  no money must also be seen changing hands. police catch the illegal gamblers mainly from complaints, either from sore losers or neighbours who complain about loud noise and high number of people going in and out etc.
