Freewill... HE gives it to us, and we then decide what we want to do with it... if HE wants to make us all the same, HE could, but that would be very monotonous, and brings no meaning to life, hence the term uniqueness is lost.Originally posted by loseagain:ok

2. God did not intend to kill animals per se, or else why was Noah told to take animals with him? So why were marine animals killed, like you claimed? -

I believe remnants of Noah's Ark has been found in the Himalayan Mountains or something.
Not too much was said about that age, except there were some things going on between angels and humans, spawning some ultra super-human types. And yes there were lots of sin as usual. God probably gave tons and tons of chances as usual, before finally giving up and deciding to just hit the "restart" button. But there was Noah whom He favoured, and that was how the whole world was saved. Also, God decided never to do the flood thing again (probably kenna HUGE water bill from PUB after that episode) and He indicated rainbows as a reminder of that promise (ie. convenant).
Lesbians, Homosexuals... It runs against the whole point of creating Males and Females, which makes it wrong. I agree that current trends should not be brought into play. Society has developed tolerance for that, God however... Oh well, no comments...
Incest... In the beginning there was only Adam and Eve, and then his children. Draw your own conclusions. There are some theories that God also created other people, but OUTSIDE of the garden of Eden. He had wanted to keep Adam and Eve special and stuff.
Lot is an interesting character. He lived in a city full of lesbians and homosexuals. After he left it his own daughters commited incest with him. All the sins to do with sex... Lol... really aLOT. Anyway this is where its pretty clear God is NoNo when it comes to incest.
The point to sin in my own humble opinion, is that if you consciously do something that is accepted in general to be BAD or SINFUL, you ARE sinning, whether the Bible says so or not. You can't do something that today's society has condemned and bring the Bible out as your shield and say: But Bible never say cannot what...! We know in our hearts, black as it is, whether what we do is right or wrong. And knowing it, we determine our sin. Its all a choice, somehow humans just LOVE choosing to sin. Myself included... its a hell lot of willpower to say NO, i WON'T DO IT.

If you have read the book Divine Encounters it is not physical animals it is the SEEDS of the animals they brought in. After the flood they have the know how to do breeding since in the book the so called G*d is actually aliens from outer space who imparted advanced medical knowledge to the humans they created.
The book draws a lot of parallels in ancient Sumerian text and pictures that depict the story. Scholars called them as myths but this author believe it is the source that inspire or collaborate with the Bible stories
The book about G*d descent at Mount Sinai to pass the Commandments to Moses are testament of aliens coming down to Earth to communicate with Moses. Note that in that story Moses face skin radiate with color a sign of radiation from the space ship and how Moses is allowed only to see the back of G*d and not the face else he will die. The Ark of Convenant is also created based on the specification dictated by G*d and how those Israelite are not allowed to go near the tent except for the chosen priest dressed in special garments which is interpreted by the author to protect one from getting raditation
It is a fascinating read. The book is in the library called Divine Encounters by Zecharin Sitchin. -

2. Its not exactly 2 of each kind... He said wipe out from the "face of the earth", sea not included lol... i mean if you really want to play with words...
Genesis 7:2 - "Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. Seven days from now i will send rain on the earth and i will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature i have made."
Bear in mind that quite abit of the old testament's passed down by word of mouth for generations... Its bound to be imbued with some of the era's mystism and cultural implications. However, one should read beyond the words and see the real words behind them...
