i have seen many shopping centres and buildings employing old uncles and ah peks as security guards....
come on lah...not tt i despise them, but they are not suitable for the job and its a danger for them too. -

Schools with security check points remind me of army camp.

spoke to one of those security guards before...he said they are not there to prevent terrorist bombing...they are there to prevent students from fighting outside school and to keep a look out for people going in and harrass students...

well these guys are all uncles as working as a security guard is a job for old uncles who wanna work after retirement.... these guards are only meant for scaring off thieves or some trouble makers

They have lesser walking and moving around to do at night since there is not much going on... so I guess it applies to all types of shift they are working... Pity these uncles, they have arthritis and can only be fit for certain jobs such as these... but at least they are doing something

Security guards in singapore are mostly for show only lah, especially since they're all unarmed, and mostly old and out of shape. For the kind of pay being offered this is what you get.

You young people will one day be Singapore's workforce, you've to be conditioned to live and more importantly work here. And where better to condition you than in school? That's why education is compulsory, so each and everyone of you will be conditioned.... i meant educated. I shan't talk about education since topic is about school secrurity.
So now in school you got security and of course you're told it's for you own good. Conditioning objective?
Let Singaporeans learn that everything the authorities do is for your own good. Leave the thinking to those who knows what's GOOD FOR YOU.

Let Singaporeans get used to security. There always someone GUARDING YOU! But somehow it reminds me of Changi Prison (not that i've been there .... but maybe someday soon. Who knows?). You'll be released when you served your time. Hmmm......
To enhance security, cameras aka CCTV are installed to watch over the students. Conditioning objective?
Let Singaporeans get used to cameras watching them. So watch what you do! Except maybe the MRT station, CCTV for show only.
Additional benefit of providing employment for old folks who would otherwise make noise and cause trouble thus creating bad publicity.
IT'S ALL FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.
