  i on pc today only see the wallpaper
  
  my desktop shortcut and tool bar below disappear

  Then set your wallpaper as some Internet explorer page.
  Mozilla, firefox, it doesn't matter, watch what happens when someone uses it.

  I think kena virus... have to reboot and scan in safe mode or send for reformatting...

  yes i also think yr explorer.exe is not starting up... Ctrl+Alt+Del-->File-->New Task (Run...)-->type explorer.exe
