factory workers and factory life

  just curious....
  
  saw the ads in the General Production category in the ST Classifieds today. General Production == factory/assembly-line kind of work.
  
  for those of u got experience one, is it like what they say? the work is very harsh and the supervisors are very mean? or are things different nowadays?

  Factory work goes by target. Basically,their target is so high that you won't have time to go toilet. 1 good thing is that you just have to do routine work.Don't need to use your brains.Hands and legs fast can liao.

  basically, i'm still trying to find job leh.
  i mean, i'm trying to aim for admin assistant job, but all those i see in the classifieds all require either one of the following :
  
  1) at least 1 - 2 years of experience in admin assistant-related field
  2) only females
  3) requires accounting knowledge
  
  some ads require two of the above, some three......some even more!
  i only got 3 O' levels, half a year of experience in retail sales.......how to get such admin assistant jobs? if you take competition into account, then really hopeless.
  i tried recruitment agencies, but still no news. those that replied always ask me "would u mind taking up retail sales job". because it's because i last time do retail one.
  
  but now cannot lah, because i got night classes and cannot work retail hours.
  part-time retail job also bo-hua, because u work a few hours(S$500++ per month) and must spend the transport fees; in the end, u spend more than you earn(not to mention food).
  
  factory jobs is the last resort lah, because i really don't like the working style and the enviroment also quite bad, as in it's not healthy for me. i 21 years old go and work with 37++ year old ladies and uncles.....
  
  for cases like mine, is there any suitable jobs/fields that i should look into?
  should i continue try admin assistant applications?
  (another hard thing about admin assistant jobs is that usually it's only 1 vacancies, so i got no hope if compared to poly student with 1 year + admin experience)
  or should i go work factory already?

  21 year old cannot work factory ah?
  U forgot that there are also 21 year old FT around...so not just aunties and uncles...
  anyway...lots of factories run on 12 hour shifts...even those on 8 hour shift might need to stay for OT...

  wELL.. Factory life consists of supervisor barking at U, some1 standing beside the punch card machine when u r late.
  
  Juz imagine school days when u see ur discplinary master if u r a "bad" kid. Tat the kinda of life.

  i worked in a factory b4 as a holiday job...can be boring coz ur colleagues all auntie-types...nthg much to talk abt. thou there are other same-age ppl like me oso working there, we dun get to see each other often coz we r sent to diff departments doing diff work, except during lunch & tea time.

  i also thought going to factory..
  but i afraid... afraid tht i cant chi ku..
  but the salary quite good if u ototot..
  
  actually i trying to get a pc technician job..
  but also need ex..
  
  haix..
  coz pc technician can learn some hands on..

  to my understanding...those jobs are pretty much recommended by people in the know... but U can try...let us know if U manage to get it this way...

  yeah lor, if u go work factory, 0% of chance to chao-keng......even the chao-keng skills u learnt in army also no use.
