Windows XP - Start up JAMMED!

  Laptop has been OVERLOADED with TOO MANY new applications lately!! Realise that some of them actually JAM UP its LOAD UP... But how do we make it such that those applications don't load up upon the laptop start up...??

  go safe mode (F8 upon booting up) and then remove those tat u dun wan

  Start> Run> Msconfig > Services> Startup> Ok> Exit Without Restart

  There were times when even have problem with booting up and hence the option for 'safe mode' didn't came up?

  dun need so ma huan, click on start and then run and then type msconfig and press enter can liao

  ok, as mentioned..
  
  go click 'start' button at bottom left.
  
  select 'run'
  
  type msconfig in 'open' field
  
  go to 'services' tab and disable unnecessary services e.g. smart card, help and support....etc
  
  go to 'startup' tab and disable unnecessary services e.g. messenger lah etc...
  
  if too troublesome, think upgrade ram...

  Try removing all desktop functions you don't use.
  
  Clear the desktop bar of all icons, minimise default icons on the right hand side.
  
  Delete all unused and unnecessary shortcuts on the screen.
  
  Go to BIOS advanced menu and optimise settings.
  
  Startup should be faster next time round.

  Think you kena spyware or virus or both. Do a scan for these. If nothing, then I think your computer needs a reformat. One more thing: Fake Windows XP cannot be updated. Please make sure you get the real one.
