Dont compare apples with oranges. Bach and Rahman live in different times. One is a classicial composer another is a modern day. Besides, Rahman will not like to give the type of music which bach gives as he is a businessman. He sells records......if u want to sell u need to give music which everyone likes to listen, not only a seregated part of the audience.Originally posted by HENG@:see i would have thought this piece was alright. Kinda Kenny G-ish, but certainly no Bach. however that'd be ok, but the problem is, some people here just die die want to think his work is greater than even that of bach or mozart, and then they make u expect so much of his music, and then u hear it and think: "like that only?" and then u feel so disappointed that u just dislike it.
So in the end, I dislike it, because some people here who for some reason keep over-hyping him, promoting his songs and asking people to listen to them. And that is VERY annoying, especially if its certainly nowhere as good as these few people have led u to believe it to be.

It was presented in a style reachable to all listeners. He wants it to be more reachable to mainstream listeners. But [b]it should not be taken to be inferior to that of bach, BTW bach and mozart are classical players.

not really, by looking at the music, it is done in a mainstream style. Rahman has done some classical stuff but they are modern classical. But it does not mean he's no good compared to bach. There are many other touches to his music which show he is quite marvellous.......eg. the sound part, recording style, arrangements ect.Originally posted by Mr Fugue:FYI, mainstream sux.
you're actually trying to tell me that ARR is aiming for the LOWEST standards.![]()
but ARR still sux.Originally posted by Mr Soh:Rahman in my opinion uses sound and technology to bring out the mood compared to Bach.

it doesn't realli make any difference, really!!Originally posted by Mr Soh:cool t guys, u mus realise that the above music was to be a tamil song, so notes used may not be western ones or look alien to u.
that is nonsense. u go and listen to marilyn manson's music repeatedly then. it will also grow on u. with music it swings 2 ways. u listen to a song repeatedly u'll either like it or hate it. the great songs are those which hit u full in the face like a freight train on 1st hearing.Originally posted by Rahmania:u are REALLY REALLY WRONG, U have to liste n to Rahman's music repeatedly.....it slolwy grows on u.....If u dont beleive u will go back one week later and try listening to the same music again,,,u will pick up somethign different about it...
