marketing : finding out the facts

hi,

this is regarding my marketing project.
suppose that i'm required to find out things like the following :

1) who are the buyers of Pepsi drinks? (give demographics on race, age, gender etc.)
2) what are the lifestyles and habits of these people who buy Pepsi?
3) why do they choose Pepsi over other products?

now, the thing is : do i get all these info from the web? i've been searching the web for such information but cannot get any.

do i conduct my own surveys on the streets? u all marketing students got encounter mini-projects like this before anot?
or do i simply make assumptions based on what i know and what i think is right?

because the library don't have such demographics that tell you things like "in 2004, the drinkers of Pepsi are 55.4% male, 70% love pop-music.... etc"
also tried to find via web, but not even a single hint.

the most intriguing question is : if i make up myself, won't that be ridiculous?
the teacher wants demographics on how many people drink Pepsi, their gender, their hobbies etc......how? u all marketing guys got do such things before anot?
u also make up the statistics meh? Shocked

y dun u try these..mayb answers dere:

Option 1) Go to pepsi cola official website n look for ur answers from dere...im sure there wil some data collected by the company itself posted on their webby 4 e public to surf

Option 2) Go to google.com, and type in search strings like eg: "drinkers of Pepsi"....blah or "Pepsi cola drinkers" (sure u wil find somethang from e results..jus hav patient in goin thru em.)
