singaporean rich in asset, poor in cash?

  this is not true.
  
  your own HDB/condo cannot be your asset becasue it drains money out of your pocket. If you really want to call it an asset, better call it a negative asset.
  
  And you must have none or less negative asset. (positive asset is asset that will generate money for u).
  
  Therefore, singaporeans feel poor because singaporeans are poor in asset and cash.
  
  Rich in asset is just a propanganda to make us feel good!!!

  we dont have assets nor cash. our cash is with the government, CPF.

  negative asset: money that goes out of your pocket.
  Example:
  1. your own house. you have to pay money to maintain it but no income generated.
  2. your car.
  
  positive asset: money that goes into your pocket.
  Example:
  1) rent for your second apartment. of coz Rent > maintenance fee
