Applying for Job - Resume - Rejection - Follow up ?

if lets say you send a resume out, and u never hear back from the employer .. do you resend it .. e.g. write a letter saying "Dear XXX, I'm just following up on as i have not heard from you .. just in case you through some problem u didn't receive it, here it is again ?"
Can somebody please advise ?? -

Can try, but if second time dun have, then you can stop lor... don like that guy in Shawshank Redemption (Tim Burton is it?) who send for so many years until his reply came...

this is what they will usually tell u if u inquire about your application....

we are still in the process of shortlisting our candidates, we will notify you within 2 weeks if u are shortlisted

we have already closed the position
the almost impossible one...
