As I've said before, the 'his songs sound the same' is the most overrated reason that he isn't good.
And he isn't even comparing himself with Chopin. The title 'November's Chopin' is such because the main theme of the album is about the Romantic style, which is by Chopin.

Older generation peeps won't appreciate jay chou's song.
Its the different target market group jay's songs are targeted at.
So we don't bother. Call his songs bland, insipid, gaudy. Whatever.
Its like old grandpas saying new songs suck like hell and prefers their old high pitched vocal songs.
Whatever. We can't please everyone. At least jay pleases the younger generation.

di dar, wang jing wen (faye's very 1st CD), fei mi mi zi ying, fu zhao.....to her CDs in recent years.
but her old CDs are more collectible. -
