last time no money for ps2
not i feel like getting 1 to complete all series of final fantasy
as a bloody rpg gamer
i would most probably spend most of the gaming time simply
on rpg. And can please don't tell me to wait for ps3
cause when ps3 is release then have to wait till 2007
Question:
1) u ppl think is it worth to buy a not ?
2) will it come out more games ? -
the best console out now IMO is still ps2

yes ....
even if those upcomin games dont interest you, there are still many great games for ps2 like GTA, Winnin Eleven, GT4, WWE Smackdown vs RAW ...., etc, or
RPG : Arc the Lad, FFX, FFXII, Wild Arms, Suikoden, etc ....

well you do not need ps2 to play rpg games.
Anyway there are loads of rpg that are as good or better than the FF series.
But well they are really old games.There are tons of gems in old DOS games,Super Nintendo,sega even the really old original Nintendo.
They do not have the graphics of what modern games has but what they cannot concentrate on in that era,they focused on the game play factor,thus they are often more playable and fun than modern games which focus too much on graphics.
So well if you are a true RPG gamer,maybe you can try them without any cost.They are available in ROM format and run thru an emulator.Make a search in google on rom games and you can find tons of them for download free.
Well here are some recommendation,Lufia series,romancing saga series (the original series that is remade on the PS version),might & magic series,Utima series well way too many to list here. -
Anyway if any of you people like FF series,here is something on why it is called Final Fantasy.It was the final fantasy of the creator for what he dream would be the new era of rpg
Final Fantasy was made in 1987 by Hironubu Sakaguchi and was actually made as a farewell "present" to Square Co., Ltd. He felt that the gaming world was going in circles and that no-one wanted to take any chances with a new type of game. So he decided to quit the buisness and start a new career doing something completely different, maybe become a fisherman. But before he could do this he needed to prove to both himself and the rest of the world that the age of groundbreaking games were not over. He sat down and worked over a long period in secret on his last project ever. His last dream. His Final Fantasy. And so the name was created. Final Fantasy was a single man's last wish for proving that new things could still be made. And so far every single FF game has improved the gaming world in ways no-one could imagine. Every game has introduced something new, either in terms of graphic, gameplay, voices & music, engine... You name it, Final Fantasy has always been the first to go new ways. And that is how it should be. The moment Hironubu Sakaguchi feels the games are copying themselves he is going to quit and become a fisherman. -

some of the SNES rpg titles are really good, i also agree that in terms of graphics they are not as good, but that's the best they can do at that time. Tales of Phantasia from SNES is my fav, the gameplay was very great. Later episode of "tales of ....." are also nice. they got remade tales of phantasia in PS ver too.
For Sega side i like the shining force series.
didnt played much on NES emu, cos dun have many great tiltes like SNES.

A "true" RPG games uses pen, paper, their imagination and dice. Not Computers, emulators or PS2 consoles.

Another version would be those old Game book series RPG like the famous LoneWolf series,those were books that let you have fun and make you read more,a double advantage. -

he spent dunno how much to buy the set of D&D thing, got a board, many cards, set of dice with differnt max numbers, one or two books inside, one is the guideline and one is a story to play i think.
we played that for once, and it's in his wardrobe forever after that.....haha.
it's kinda fun, but just too troublesome, and need ppl to play together. -

Also particular like this feature that the equipment have random modifiers sorta like those items you get from the game diablo 2,so tonnes of unique items to choose and upgrade to. -

never heard that you can buy your own joypad just like those console joypad connected to your comp to play it? still the same,just that you are facing comp screen not TV screen. -

All those you listed are comparing orange with apple.None of them are emulations of each other like what emulating a game from console to another console.
You want to compare.you compare learning driving at the driving center or at another driving center or listening to the same singer at one venue or another venue. -

All those you listed are comparing orange with apple.None of them are emulations of each other like what emulating a game from console to another console.
You want to compare.you compare learning driving at the driving center or at another driving center or listening to the same singer at one venue or another venue.
ps2 got no emulator !
