Digital SCV set-up box with Ethernet Port?

  I've always wondered what the purpose of the ethernet port which is built into the digital scv set-up box for.
  
  Kind of figure that eventually they are going to use that for web-tv features or something like that.
  
  Anyone has any ideas?
