  Yeah Free hosts will almost always have some sort of string attached to the offer. Nothing is ever *free*. There is always a catch, usually in the form of ads on your site. It's fine if you're fine with it
  
  There are, however, other hosts that offer pretty powerful hosting options, and for Free - so long as you are programming in a specific language, or using a certain content management system, etc.

  Have! Exception is there will be some irritating ad banners (Google ones) at the top of the pages. I am currently using one that have 250mb space and bandwidth.
  
  There are some that requires you to join a forum and have a number of posts before you have webspace, those are better ones but you need to have posts. Normally they have big big space and big bandwidth (1GB or more)
  
  Some have even better service, like 2GB space and unlimited bandwidth, but they only grant you service in a case-by-case basis.
