I prefer the 80's Singapore

My reasons :-
1) less pollution and more "green areas". Punggol, Lim chu kang. More variety of wildlife. Like the Magpie Robin and Saga trees in amk ( red beads) cant find now
2) Quiet life less population
3) Weather was more cool. Less global warming. When other developed nation were facing this problem, Singapore and Asia were still in their infancy.
4)There was no internet (IRC, porn, blogs ect) and healthy activities fostered between different groups of people like chai bird, kopitiam gathering. The pub and discos were for the rich and wealthy.
5) WWF and Michael jackson were the in-thing. Richard Marx for the depressed souls.
6) Many of our school vacations were spent travelling to Malaysia on motorbikes or at East Coast and Sentosa.
Miss them

The internet has increased the number of obese young.
And yes, Singapore was still in its infancy. But funny thing, why didn't our government back then, foresee all these unemployment and old age problems in Singapore? Aren't they super inteligent and chocked full of foresight? -

without high tech...life is easier but many things we cant do.
