Rich, Spoilt Kids

Okay, so we had school today. It wasn't a normal day of classes. We had this thing called Fall Fest that our Art Society puts on. I go to a private school full of rich snobbish pricks, and our school administration knows this, so they have an auction at every Fall Fest to benefit our Service Board.
It is the most disgusting thing ever.
Today, this one kid I really loathe decides to drop $435 dollars on a poster of the Friends cast signed by all of them. He didn't even want it, he just wanted to outbid this one rich girl to prove that he could.
And to top this shit off, he spent FOUR HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS ON 7 DOZEN COOKIES! How wrong is that? That money could've gone to save the lives of a few kids in third world Africa, but he drops it on FUCKING COOKIES! Can you imagine eating an five dollar fucking cookie!?

It's not as if he threw or burnt that money away. The money went to the organization. If the organization decided to use the money for charity then that boy is doing a great favor to society in fact.

My point is that I have been in your shoes in the USA, where I grew up n went to school. I din have the good fortune (I guess) to go to a private school, but I know about the "spoilled rich kids", and ya know what - you are 100% correct! They suck!
But, from my point of view and experience, many years later...
Do NOT worry about it TOO much...What you will find out much later is that you are in the better position than they are...
Your life-experience is and will be very much different from theirs...And you will know things, and be able to do things, and understand things, that those other people can only dream about or see on television...This I promise you...
Right now I know it sounds like crap what I am saying, but I promise it's true...But I also know it dun make it easier...lol... -

The spoilled child is "spoilled", meaning he easily has what he wants. The poor child, on the other hand, when faced with difficult life situations, does not have the answers and solutions so easy. For the solution, the poor individual has to be creative, has to use strategy, and definitely learns a greater appreciation of friendship, etc. when he is given help.
And I stand by the television statement. Obviously, I am not talking about the opportunity to travel to far and distant lands or whatever you may be hinting at.
What I am talking about is that the poor man knows the inside of a restraunt kitchen, the poor man can know places in the "inner city" that the rich man would never go into.
The poor guy and the rich guy can both be only about money-chasing. But the poor man will be the one who can change his status, and know both worlds. The poor man will be be the one more quick to feel when something is amiss, or more quick to recognize depth to a situation. -

And definitely not saying anyone is more "hardworking" than anyone else. I have seen plenty of rich and poor being lazy. And I have seen the opposite.
It is difficult to speak in general terms, because each individual and their life-experiences are unique. However, since we are on the topic of spoilled, etc., I am just saying that I do believe from what I have seen, that those who grow up not being spoilled, and having a bit more difficult time, will have an edge against the other group.
However, the opposite is true - it is just a matter of having an edge "in what area". -

i know it's fucking stupid to spend money like that but it's his money and he certainly has the right to use it this way. -
