  9 out of 10 times, my prayers were answered.
  
  That's why I'm still reasonably wealthy (not filthy rich), and have trouble-free health.
  
  But even if you think that prayers don't work, we are all entitiled our own opinions and believes, hence we should just do whatever works for us.

  One has to be serious about what and for whom you pray for, and faith in prayer counts a lot. Doing anythnig without genuine faith or believe, does nothing.
  
  And gambling, is not something ordinarily religious people would pray for. It's afterall a vice.
  
  If your wishes are generally noble and good intentioned, likelihood of it being answered (regardless of what religion) is higher.
  
  Religion is a positive force, while almost everything else, are worldly things which are negative forces.
