Its about Orlando Bloom in a role that he doesnt look right playing.
It's bout the neverending fight over Jerusalem, the Holy City.
Overall, it's a good movie. Lotsa gore and a hot babe. -

The show didnt provoke much tho, from what i noe, they try to show more of humanity than a faith supremacy over the other, the director was careful abt this... -

Yes it is about the Crusades and their forever struggle to claim Jerusalem as their holy city. It sure provkes much IMO. It portray the christains as basically in 2 factions. A faction wanting peace and a faction that want blood and gore to satisfy their lust under the guise of fighting for their Lord.
The moslems are led by Saladin and it also portray the honest nature for when he gave the word he honor it. He let Balian and the rest of the city defenders to leave peacefully without any harrasement along the way. He could have taken this chance to wipe them out but he didn't.
The ending is Balian went back to his hometown but the King of England wanna raise another Crusades again to snatch back Jerusalem from Saladin. He was recruiting soldiers and always fight under the guise of the Lord banner How so ironic.
A good show for ppl who want to see Crusades campaign and the legendary Moslem leader Saladin

Well are you suggesting pope regard violence as a way to get back a city that is made of bricks? Ain't faith all abt keeping it within oneself and attain spiritual enlightenment instead of focusing on those bricks and sticks? Too many centuries of uncountable loss of lives and shedded blood for that city of bricks and sticks. It smacks of total ignorance and a blind attachment to something that is not worth at all IMO -

One of the famous crusades or campaign was against the Cathars, and the popes have meddled before in politics, as can be seen in the history of the Holy Roman Empire and England's break from Rome.
You got to read up more on the history you know. Or shall I nail the 95 these of Luther right here? -

Not to mention the deliberate slaughter of Christians by Christians crusaders during the entire crusade episode
