My parents gonna buy me a mp3 player for my birthday so I decided on the zen micro. 5GB.
It worked well I guess.....for the first 3 months. Then literally the soundjack port came loose....then the sound quality dropped from bad to worse to unacceptable. I suffered for 1 month before sending it for warranty service. They told me that it would take 3 weeks to replace it.
I was furious! but at least creative decided to end my wait after 1.5 weeks and give me a 6GB zen micro instead of waiting forever for a 5GB one. If this breaks down I'm boycotting creative forever.
Warning: almost all of creative models have problematic soundjacks!!! All my friends with creative players(MuVo2 and micros) have exchanged their players at least twice. No kidding. MuVo seems ok though!
But at least I guess the service would be better than apple's. Apple being a global brand has its call centre in Afraia....my friends complain that they cannot understand what the operators are saying and the operators dun understand either =D

You are just suay lah.Originally posted by stealthknight:I am writing this letter in the hope that I can help other consumers not to make the same bad mistake I made when making a purchase.
In June of this year, my wife had decided to purchase me an mp3 player for my upcoming birthday and she gave me a choice of any brand I would like.
As I narrowed my choice down to two models, one being the popular Ipod and the other being a local product, the Creative Zen Micro. As both products were of similar value I decided to support our local businessÂ’s and buy the Creative product.
This turned out to be a big mistake.
Since buying this product I have had to return it twice for a one-for-one exchange. Unfortunately the second exchange still has not been completed even after a two week plus wait. Apparently Creative is having distribution problems and can not get new stock available. They have informed me that it could be two more weeks or maybe even longer due to unforeseen circumstances.
After emailing Creative I have still received no reply and when I call their consumer lines they keep repeating the same thing, no stock and do not know when new will arrive.
I find this type of service and product quality completely appalling as Creative wishes to be an international player in the electronics market. How can this company expect to compete on a global scale if they can not please their home market and can not even manage to deliver quality products in the local area to consumers?
A word of warning to other consumers, be very careful in your choices and do not let your common sense be over-ridden just because the product is home-grown. Apparently products like Ipod are number one for a reason.
