This issue has been harped on for too long.
XX is entitled to her own opinion. She could have expressed it in a more diplomatic way but knowing her prechant for controversy, she chose to project it without bothering to 'sugar coat' her words.
This item therefore became an open invitation overnight.

Working in the media industry yourself, or as you so claim, you should know that selective reporting (be it from a bias or unbias point of view) is done in almost ALL news reports and articles, not only XX's.
If anyone expects our papers to be objective in their reporting, think again. The letters from 'SARAH TAN' and the corresponding response from the Society for the Physical Handicapped's Cherie Ho are self-explanatory.
