Im not prof. but i would like to answer ur quesiton.
some profesors call themselves Dr is because sometime they are happy to be called as Doctor, as you know, not all professors are Doctor.. majority of them is doctor though.
a/p means associate professor, which is superior to assistant professor, assistant professor is only the enry level, after 3-5 years he/she may become associate professor, but it takes more years to be a professor, some unlucky guy is a/p and till the retired, still a/p one.
if you are a professor of NUS, your monthly salary would be range from 12000S$-18000S$ or even more.

No professor will with us and if there is, I really doubt he's a professor.
Professors I know are very busy people and get really annoyed if anyone ask them for simple problems, I don't see they would be here and probably preparing for another publication for journals.
So why do you wanna find a professor in SGforum? So you can tell your mom, "Mom, I'm discussing work with a professor in Sgforum. I'll leave my homework later"? -

You are right to say that prof are annoyed when ppl looked for him for simple questions. However, I also see some prof really nothing to do leh. They are like quite free. Going to SgForums is justing for entertainment mah. They are human and need entertainment mah. -
hehe, speaking from experience only. Professors are usually very old people, a bit ku ku up there. It's not that they do not have a "life", but I don't think their kind of "entertainment" would be the same as us "normal" people. I wonder.
