as for me hor, when i'm having gastric problem..i will take losec ( omeprazole ), also for gastric problem..but i find it better than those normal types..but u need to get a prescription from doctors..
Losec is more for peptic ulcer disease, but it's very strong... it's a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that prevents acid from being formed by your stomach epithelial lining... Omeprazole is the most commonly prescribed by doctors... others include Lansoprazole (Zoton) and Esomeprazole (Nexium)...
Milder medications include antihistamines (coz histamines will stimulate formation of acid in the stomach) and these are cimetidine and ranitidine...
Others include misoprostol (prostaglandins which are known to protect and coat the gastric mucosal lining)...
