Paper 2 Topics
Emphasize on the following topics but Do not forget about tested topics that came out in paper 1.
A. Algebra
1. Problems sums on Quadratic equations, using the formula:
2. Algebra:
a. Changing subject of formula (When taking square root, answer must be in both positive and negative value)
b. Algebraic Fractions (You are not expected to expand the denominator)
c. Simultaneous Equations and Indices
B. Geometry
1. Area of similar Triangles, Volumes of Geometrically Similar Solids
2. Congruent Triangles (SSS, SAS, AAS, RHS)
3. Angle Properties Of Circle
a. Add your own line
4. Line Symmetry (Graph – ) and Rotational Symmetry (Graph – Centre – intersection of diagonal and order of rotation)
C. Mensuration

b. 3 sides find any angles
c. 2 sides and included angle fine the other side
3. TOA, CAH, SOH
4. 3D Problems
5. Bearings (Angle of Elevation and Depression)
E. Graphical Solutions
1. Graphical Methods:
a. Plotting graph of functions (Make use of phantom points)
b. Finding gradients given x value (draw tangent at x value and calculate)
c. Finding x value given gradient (draw tangent with gradient then slide)
d. Solving equations using graphical methods – change new equation to curve equation then solve simultaneously.
2. Inequalities (Linear & Graphical (quadratic equation) representation of Inequalities)
F. Statistic
1. Histogram (based on Frequency Densities)
2. Mean, Mode and Median
3. Stem & Leaf Diagram
4. Dot Diagram
G. Simple Probability
1. Tree Diagram
2. Possibility Diagram
H. Vectors
1. When finding ratio of 1 triangle over another, determine whether they are similar triangles, same base triangles or same height triangles.
I. Transformations
1. Translation
2. Shearing
3. Stretching
4. Find shear/stretch factors given objectÂ’s and imageÂ’s points
You practically listed all. But they got pattern one. Definitely got algerbra, transformations and drawing graphs to solve problems. The rest, no pattern. Come out once every two to three years.
