Computer Help [Sudden Lag]

It happened yesterday. All of a sudden, my whole computer seems to be lagging. What seems to be the home page when i open IE, it loads damn fucking slowly. My downloads also. Where the avg dl speed is around 40-60kb/s... now is around 11-15kb/s. Some even go to 9kb/s.
Any ways to remedy this thing?

It happens to my computer once in a blue moon. Usually, no spyware or adware is involved. Neither is there any viruses. Just shut down your computer for one day and on it the next day. Something wrong with the registry maybe?
Try using Registry Mechanic or CCleaner. They're both free and can be found on download.com. I cleaned up my system registry using CCleaner and my computer is noticeably faster now. -

Mine also has lag sometimes, but it's sometimes due to the ad-blocking HOSTS file I'm using. Simply click "STOP" and "REFRESH". Or try closing and turning on your modem, or change to USB or LAN.

Based on your description, you PC is definitely COMPROMISED, and INFECTED.
Those FREE downloaded virus scanners and what nought aren't effective. Install a licensed copy of NIS2006 and you'll see the number spyware, adware and viruses it will weed out of your system.
Don't blame your hardware or your ISP, it's your bad surfing habits. -
yep.Shud be spyware.Spyware clogs up yr whole system lyk siao.even affects yr internet.
Spyware removal -
1. go to start menu
2. choose run
3. type 'msconfig'
4. under 'startup' choose the programs that u don't want to run everytime ur computer starts..
Nb: be care ful.. dont touch other things like 'win.ini','system.ini',general,boot.ini,services.. ONLY STARTUP
5. u might check the programs whether its important programs before close -

Editing the msconfig Startup selection is one option, but it is useless if you are infected, because it would re-create another entry in the Startup group.
The registry will also have been extensively altered by all those malware, as well as all those files inside Temp and Temporary Internet Files folders.
