Starfruit not washed before they were juiced
I ORDERED two glasses of freshly squeezed starfruit juice at the Housemen's Cafeteria in Changi General Hospital on Tuesday.
The vendor took the starfruit out of the carton, cut and juiced them without washing them. When I questioned the vendor's assistant about it, she said that he had forgotten to do so.
However, the vendor was obviously displeased with my comment and shot me dark looks. I refused to accept the drinks and walked away.
I am highlighting this incident because it is ironic that a vendor at a hospital could be so ignorant or careless about hygiene.
What if the medical personnel become sick after consuming unhygienically prepared drinks?
Perhaps the management of the hospital could ensure that hygiene is observed.

When people get sick from drinking unhygenically prepared juice, where do you think they will go?
