Christmas IS NOT about santa clause. Bible doesn't tell you what is the proper way to decorate and celebrate for Christmas. People came up with the decoration ideas long ago, in western society first.
So now you want to celebrate Christmas, you can decorate how ever you like according to your judgement. Christmas doesn't belong to western society. It belongs to all Christians (asians, caucasians, africans, etc). So why do you have to decorate it like how they do in the west? Can't you be a little original?
And get the facts right. That hat is the hat worn by officials in China long time ago. It doesn't only belong to God of Wealth. -

Firstly,
Christmas is officially only a festival celebrating the birth of CHRIST, as the name suggests, CHRISTmas, is already obvious its intent. The cross-cultural traits of our country have made the occasion merge with others in a certain extent. almost similar to deepavali and hariraya "merged". But in other countries it is quite recognised as a christian festival.
Secondly,
Santa Claus is not a figment on imagination, but it has been metamorphed to such a twisted way that it seems it is fantasy.
Santa is actually Saint Nicholas, a Bishop that in a german folktale fought against a demon, in celebration he gave out presents and told the story of the gospel, and thus its relations with the christianity.
Lastly,
the chinese god of fortune hat is just some cheapo advertisement to save money on CNY celebrations... they just take off the seasons greetings and switch it to something else... -
