I simply love their sunglasses but never own 1 as they are too expensive.

dunno why everyone likes oakleys. I dislike them so much. They're too flash. I prefer Tag Hauer sunglasses. simple aesthetic funtionality

bought 1 3 yrs ago... still surviving nw... excellent condition... if spoil, bring back to repair with warranty... so ok lah... wear so many times liaoz.. money worth back liao lor!!

I wouldn't call them an accessory .... though lots of people do use them for that ...
they are superbly functional too .... I own several pairs of sunglasses ... but i almost exclusively wear my oakleys now .... invest in a pair if you go out in the sun a lot .... it's really worth it ... and you'd find it hard to wear anything else ....

I do have other devices to listen to mp3 at night.like an mp3 player.
the oakley bluetooth thingy is for me to be the resident beach bum...if I ever get it... -
IMHO, oakley sunglasses are expensive due to several factors.
1 is their lenses. they aren't any cheapo lenses that you can find on the streets. they filter out all glare and uv all that shit effectively. those cheap sunglasses you have, may in fact harm your eyes. reason being that they don't filter the uv but darken your vision, causing your iris to enlarge allowing more of the harmful uv rays into enter your eyes.
2 is their life time warranty. in the 1st year u can exchange ur Oakleys for free if they are damaged. from there on for a mere 30 bucks u can have a brand shd you spoil them (same model though)
3 is their durability, if you notice that in their plastic frames Oakleys refrain from using screws and other detachable parts. even in their metal frames there are minimal screws. the oakleys are made to last for a life time.
the brand factor is another, but i believe that Oakleys are good investments and they really protect your eyes, esp if you are the sporty kind always in the sun.
p/s: i think you can actually wear the sunglasses at night cos the lenses would not darken your vision like those conventinal sunglasses. i tried, but remove them after a while cos i don't want to look like a goon.... -

You'll have to own one to know the difference...
but AFAIK, Oakleys are not of lifetime warranty... it is a misconception by many people... Oakleys are only 1 year warranty free and only if you keep their warranty card, stamped by an authorized dealer and you'll have to keep your receipt on which Oakley will do the repair with no questions asked. However if it is more than a year, Oakley would still do the repair for a fee of $30... but judging from the impact resistance of Oakley shades, wat are the chances of it needing a repair...??
Currently wearing a Half Jacket, thinking of getting a M-Frame(Hybrid S) and Juliet in the near future. Btw, their prescription glasses are also great, esp. Wiretap...
P.S: there's no point going around to compare the prices of different shops... I think Oakley Singapore does very strict control on the prices of their shades and glasses, so not much of a difference. -
