Long time never used will spoil?

Will be going abroad soon and my com will probably be in an unused state for a really long time... Will the hardware inside spoil just because i dont on the com for like a year? Any of you in the same situation b4? Maybe i should pass it to my cousin and ask him to on it a few other days... Com experts please advice me...

hav it covered and keep away from dust and moisture. i doubt will spoilt.

Its just like your car engine... leave it for a month and try driving it

i think when u come back, ur computer will already obsolete liao. lots of s/w cannot use liao. so y bother?

Yes, the internal battery will gradually discharge and you have to replace it.

Keep it away from dust and moisture, and ground the components
Remove the internal battery from your mainboard (Warning: You will lose all CMOS settings and your time, but it is to prevent the battery from corroding and destroying your motherboard)
Unplug your PC from the power sockets -
the best is to keep it in a large, air-tight zip-lock bag and store it in refrigerator.
