2 yrs ago I predicted the price of cigarette to reach $10 and now it is indeed reached. By raising it to $25 I guess could be in another 2 years time.
For hardcore smokers, cigarettes are like drugs no matter how expensive they will go and buy rob or steal. Usually too expensive they turn to cheaper brand to sustain their habits. If even cheaper brand is also expensive I guess they will voice their feedback during general election times if only their estate is not a walkover.
Conclusion: stop smoking

.............being a financial constraint, the price will deter people to smoke, hence they will try to reduce usage as it's expensive~!!
I feel that financial method is more effective than ''no-smoking'' signs~!! -

I read somewhere in sgforums someone did suggest having a cigarette COE valid for 10 weeks and renewable after that. That is indeed innovative and mirrors after our car COE concept. However, implementation and policing it is hard. Can't expect all police officers to see ppl who smoke to show them the COE that allow them to smoke?
