The way parents treat their children

OK, I came across a HDB block, and I heard somewhere (probably 2nd floor or what, scolding damn loud), in Chinese:
"Qu si ba! Zhui hao ni zhong cancer ke yi shen yi ge fan wan!"
(meaning: Go and die! The best is that you get cancer, so that I can save money)
Meanwhile a child is crying in the background.
I mean, wtf? Is this the modern children's childhood now?
Then, near my house there is always this house opposite my block. In one of the apartments just opposite mine, around 11-12th floor, almost everyday you can hear caning and the child crying.
wtf. Seems that competition and control is now what SG is all about. -

some will have a good, loving relationship with their parents, some dun. -
i have heard the reverse..a son asking his parens to die earlier so that he'll be free and no need to maintain them..also calls them good for nothing..haizzz...
