Which course do you study in? Do you enjoy the school system and environment?
Im asking that because Im deciding whether to go to army first then return to NP...or to go RP study first then go army, in which i would waste 2 years...
so if u can provide any information on Rp then ill be veir grateful...thanks! -

ermm...i ****ed up my studies, so i hav 2 go army first then study unless got another poly accept mi. We're lousy? Think again lah. Who can argue better than us? Try our conversational and presentation skills lo. And the way how our learning are conducted greatly pulls us away from traditional and conventional learning method, by encouraging us to infuse creativity with critical thinking.
And most importantly, we are independent learners. We don't need lecturers to SPOON-FEED us. Like, duh. -

Who tell u that it is for students who cant meet poly critera and supposed to go to ite? I can tell u that I have lots of friends in there which have result good enough to go anywhere else.
Just that RP is a new poly doesnt mean that its not a good poly. In RP everything is just so special and different from what other poly have, the way we learn thing let us remember and understand the same thing better then what other students in other poly because we very independent learners and not just listening to lecturers to tell us what is the "correct" way and what is not.
if u look at a far sight, rp is a new school and it is using overseas' way of learning and teaching,it does have a good prospect, i belive that it will be the same rank as other poly after some time. Nobody are stupid just because of their grades, its just that we have different talents, and Problem-Based Learning[PBL] can help us discover them.
BTW, I am study Communication and Automation Electronics, and as for school environment, its not that bad...its just that there are too many smokers around the school... -

It is not a bad school the system is what is implemented in some universities. well then if the university uses this system does it make it a bad poly.. its not about landing the good jobs its about landing jobs that you want.. i myself is from that poly and i got 14 for my L1R4 Dude.. im learning biomedical science. it is seen as not good because its friggin new... it has just started we dont even have a graduated batch man... your thinking is incorrect this way.. and btw what we learn in school.. is much more in depth than what you learn.

sterotyping. boring lectures and tutorials make u sleep. basically doing all the memorizing and dump into your exam paper. do u think it helps? studying for the sake of studying. what's the point of memorizing and forget it in future? that does not mean that if you study really hard, it makes you a great student. able to learn independently without lecturers to spoon-feed you with one long chuck of notes? able to be a critical learner when you are being shoot with many questions at the same time? able to present yourself well with confident during presentation?
blind by branded schools. it is what you are able to bring your knowledge be it now or in future. the skills that we had learnt is definitely a lot more precise and make us a critical thinker and independent learner. rather than mugging and starin at boring notes. -
the downside is limited choice of courses and of course its "young-ness" which inevitably give sit a lack of recognition especially if you wanna move on to more reputable universities to further your studies.

yay..!! will the fellow people who reply meet up and form a RP-SGFORUMS meetup..ahha..yeah..RP is something different and unique from the usual rote memorizing and lecturing. MAny thinks our poly sucks but until you come to this school, you will understand our life is much difficult here. But of coz, hard life=a more thinking person. which in turns, will increase your chances of landing a job.

While you are correct, you have to consider the way we learn. Because we use a different learning system, we cannot just get notes from other polytechnics and compile and give to students. The facilitators (what we call them), have to think hard for a problem, which will contain the module's learning objective. For example, the learning objective for that day is to know basically how an MRI machine works. They have to slowly formulate it, come up with a worksheet so that we can work through it step by step. They also have to find resources for us. It is not easy. That is why we have a limited choice of courses. And tell me something, will you go to a polytechnic which offers the same course as other polytechnics? A lack of recognition -- we can't help that. We have to show that we are able to work with the diploma we graduate with, of which we don't have because nobody has graduated from RP yet. If this year's year 3 students can find jobs that are related to their diploma and are doing very well, you can't say that we are from a "lousy" polytechnic. But, our polytechnic is gaining recognition fast. Some foreigners and a lot of secondary school students have come and have a taste of our learning system. Some like it, some are not so sure, some think they will not like it.
