In India celebrities dont recive royalties for music/movie sales , only a fix amount for a project. If the previous project becomes a hit, they will just increase their fees.
The bulk of the profits goes to music distributors and labels. -
He realase a minimum of 2 to an average of 4 soundtracks a year. that means he can easily earn a million in one year. enought to last a lifetime
In the years 1994 , 1996 and 1999... His soundtracks soared to 8 or 9 per year.....Which means he earned that 1 million dollar mark long ago. -

Jus for the info, Mr Rahman is a talented musician, technologist and a futurism idealist.. There are studies around the world in France & US being done on his music with research papers. The music is unbelievably different than the usual hindi film songs or even hollywood songs
