Believe in Water Ghosts?

Why must someone drown in Sentosa ever so regularly and whats more in a calm lagoon without strong currents?
Do you guys believe that there is a manifestation lurking in the dark waters waiting to pull unsuspecting victims underwater?
Esp in places like Boat Quay in the older days and Sentosa's lagoons nowadays?
For me I used to swim at East Coast and Sentosa but I have become wary perhaps due to warnings from my elders.
Dunno abt you guys but sometimes when I drift further out to sea I am suddenly gripped with a strong sense of fear...

I used to hear of rumours such manifestations pulling our legs whenever we go swimming. Why believe in such nonsense?
If we walk on the pedestrian crossing,we can get runned down by cars.
If we sit on an aeroplane,we could die in a plane crash
If we sit on a car,we could die in an accident
If we go shopping,we could die in an terrorist attack
If we eat fishballs,we could choke to death
If we stay at home,eventually we'll die -

Becos pple tot the sea in sentosa calmer plus got lifeguard so they swim further and further. What is a ghost? This is a common question pertaining to the Paranormal. Our definition of a ghost is the spirit of a departed person who has not yet entered onto another "Higher Plane" of existence after Death. The spirit remains earthbound. Every living thing has a spirit. When something dies the spirit simply has no use to stay inside a body which will no longer function so it leaves. Most spirits pass onto these "Higher Planes" such as Heaven or even Hell but others remain here. There are many reasons for their staying. Dead people
The traditional view of ghosts is that they are the spirits of dead people that for some reason are "stuck" between this plane of existence and the next, often as a result of some tragedy or trauma. Many ghost hunters and psychics believe that such earth-bound spirits don't know they are dead. Veteran ghost hunter Hans Holzer says, "A ghost is a human being who has passed out of the physical body, usually in a traumatic state and is not aware usually of his true condition. We are all spirits encased in a physical body. At the time of passing, our spirit body continues into the next dimension. A ghost, on the other hand, due to trauma, is stuck in our physical world and needs to be released to go on."
Ghosts exist in a kind of limbo in which they haunt the scenes of their deaths or locations that were pleasant to them in life. Very often, these types of ghosts are able to interact with the living. They are, on some level, aware of the living and react to being seen on the occasions that they materialize. Some psychics claim to be able to communicate with them. And when they do, they often try to help these spirits to understand that they are dead and to move on to the next stage of their existence.
